Worship at Sixth Presbyterian
Worship is the center of our life together;
we gather to worship God each Sunday
morning at 11:00 a.m.
But that is not the only time...

We also worship God:
-
at special times in the church year: Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Christmas Eve,
-
when a member or friend of the congregation dies, in memorial services or funerals,
-
as we celebrate the joining of two people in a marriage.
And we feel worship should be carried with us into the world and our everyday lives.
Worship begins in a time of peace and quiet and contemplation, as worshippers gather from all parts of the metropolitan Washington area.

In between we
pray,
sing,
have quiet moments,
share our need for prayer,
hear the word of God,
return offerings to God,
and celebrate the sacraments
of baptism and the Lord's supper.
The service ends with joy and with an expression of our oneness, as we join hands for the closing blessing, and joyfully greet each other, wishing others the peace of Christ.
